Media Statement In the spirit of transparency and the mutual respect between the Club and its fans, the Club management wishes to clarify everything that happened regarding the player Mustafa Fathy, who was loaned to the Egyptian club Pyramids. The player left for Egypt after the end of last season to spend his vacation, and after the preparatory camp for the 2022/2023 season began, the player contacted the first team management to say that he would not be able to join the camp on time because of some administrative procedures, and asked for a few days' grace period to complete these procedures and travel to the Netherlands. After the grace period ended, the Club contacted the player, sent him tickets and informed him that he must join the team's camp as soon as possible; the player then stated that he could not leave Egypt because of military service. The Club management then did everything it could by contacting the Ministry of Sport and the Saudi Football Federation, who in turn contacted the top of Egyptian sport, and there were promises from our Egyptian brothers to Saudi sports officials that the problem would be solved and the player would return to his club. However, as the days passed, it became clear that matters had begun to become more complicated, so the management, after consulting the Club's legal department, decided that the best solution to protect the Club's rights was to loan the player out and benefit financially; the Club's legal adviser confirmed that nothing should be said in the media at that time, in order to preserve the Club's legal rights. Because the Egyptian league did not end until 30 August 2022, the day that coincides with the opening of the transfer window in Egypt, no agreement was reached with any Egyptian club until 24 hours before the end of the transfer period in Saudi Arabia, on 30 August 2022. At the same time, the Club had already finalised, days earlier, all the details of an agreement with a Brazilian replacement player and his club, and was only waiting for the completion of the loan procedures for the player Mustafa Fathy so that the replacement player could be registered. However, because the Egyptian club was late in registering the player Mustafa Fathy in the TMS system and late in signing the tripartite agreement, the Club was unable to register the Brazilian player, as the transfer period in Saudi Arabia closed before the loan procedures for the player Mustafa Fathy were completed, which are still open in Egypt. After that, the Club reached an agreement with another Egyptian club, Pyramids, to loan the player with an option to buy for a financial value that benefits the Club. Accordingly, the Club management once again affirms that it did everything it could to bring the player Mustafa Fathy back, but the system in the sister country of Egypt prevented this; it is the system that allows a player to travel only if his name is registered with one of the Egyptian clubs, following an agreement between the player's club and Tala'ea El Gaish. With this, we affirm to everyone that every step taken by the Club management is carried out in accordance with the regulatory procedures handled by the legal department and the Club's legal adviser, to avoid any harm that could cost the Club its rights. In conclusion, the Club management extends its thanks and appreciation to His Highness the Minister of Sport, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, and to the President of the Saudi Federation, Mr. Yasser Al-Misehal, for their engagement and efforts to resolve the matter. And God is the Guardian of success
