The head coach of the Al-Taawoun FC first team, Brazilian Chamusca, spoke at the press conference after the match against Al-Khaleej, which ended in a draw, about the course of the game and the challenges facing the team at the present time, stressing his satisfaction with what the players delivered despite the circumstances
Chamusca explained that the match was difficult against an opponent of high quality, noting that his team put in a good performance despite the major changes to the squad, saying:
“We are going through a transitional phase with seven new players and the departure of some players, and yet I believe we did a good job on the pitch”
The Al-Taawoun coach touched on the refereeing, stressing that the team was once again harmed by some decisions, especially through video technology, considering those mistakes influential and decisive in determining the teams' positions in the table
Chamusca also spoke about the continuous fixture pressure, explaining that the congested schedule does not give the coaching staff enough time to carry out complete technical and tactical training between one match and the next, with work mostly limited to recovery and physical restoration, adding that this situation works in favour of clubs with big budgets that have greater depth on the bench
He added:
“When we have a full week between matches, we can organise ideas and work better, but with this pressure the focus is only on recovery”
The Wolves' coach noted that the team has distinctive players, especially after the winter reinforcements, expressing his hope that the injured players return to work with the full group in the coming period
Speaking about the advantage of playing on the team's home ground, Chamusca confirmed that Wolves Park gives Al-Taawoun a real advantage, especially against the big clubs, explaining that playing at some other stadiums may cost the team this factor
Chamusca concluded his remarks by explaining the reason for his anger at the match referee, stressing that the accumulation of refereeing mistakes and the unfair disallowing of earlier goals had a direct effect on his reaction, given the direct impact of those decisions on the team's results and position.
