Al-Taawoun head coach Pericles Chamusca expressed his complete satisfaction with the performance his players delivered in the last match, stressing that the team deserved the win thanks to the discipline and high spirit the players showed

Chamusca began his remarks by offering congratulations to the leadership of the Kingdom and its people on the occasion of the national team's qualification for the World Cup, praising the honourable levels the Saudi national team delivers, which reflect the development of Saudi football

Chamusca added:

“The players' performance was good today, and I think we deserved the win. What happened in the middle of the first half was a temporary loss of concentration because of the opponent being a man down, but we managed to deal with the situation, come back into the match and settle it by a big margin”

Regarding his assessment of the current season and comparing it with his previous experiences with Al-Taawoun, the coach explained that the team faces a season full of challenges and strong competition between clubs, stressing that the support of the management, the fans and the players is a great motivation to continue the success

He said:

"Our goal at the moment is to maintain an advanced position in the standings before the winter transfer window, and we will deal with the coming phase with high focus"

In response to a question about Al-Taawoun's attacking strength and the comments of some who describe it as a defensive team, Chamusca stressed that over the past years Al-Taawoun have been among the highest-scoring teams in the Saudi league, saying:

“Whoever follows our attacking numbers knows that we are a strong team going forward, and we constantly work on developing our style and achieving a balance between defence and attack"
