Brazilian coach Pericles Chamusca returns to lead Al-Taawoun's first team under a contract running until the end of the 2025-2026 season, amid great anticipation from the “Al-Sukkari” fans, who know exactly what the man can deliver on the pitch
Chamusca previously managed Al-Taawoun during the past two seasons and achieved a distinguished presence during them, leading the team in 68 matches, winning 34 of them, drawing 18 and losing 16. The team scored 104 goals under his leadership while conceding 76, and also kept a clean sheet in 22 matches
These numbers were crowned by Al-Taawoun reaching fifth place in the 2022-2023 season, before improving further and finishing fourth in the 2023-2024 season
As for his last stop with Saudi club NEOM, Chamusca continued to deliver strong displays, leading the team in 34 matches in which it recorded 24 wins, drew 7 times and lost only 3 matches. The players scored 80 goals under his leadership, the team conceded 27 goals, and kept a clean sheet in 16 matches, being crowned at the end of the season with the Yelo League 2024-2025 championship
Chamusca's return gives Al-Taawoun a strong technical and morale boost, especially as he is a coach who knows the team well and has a record that qualifies him to lead a new successful season
The fans in turn hope that next season will be full of victories and great ambitions under Chamusca's leadership
